The plan
What is the Executive Job Search Plan?
A written document, usually eight to twelve pages, covering how the market currently reads you, the one problem you are positioned to solve, the evidence for that pulled from your own history, which titles are worth your time and which look right and are a detour, the profile of company and the people inside those companies who own the decision.
It also includes an anti-positioning section: the roles to avoid and what taking one would cost you.
Why is it free?
We cannot tell whether we can help you until the plan exists, and neither can you.
Some executives are in markets too narrow for what we do. We would rather find that out while writing the plan than three months into a retainer.
Every firm in this category offers you a free consultation. We would rather give you the work.
What do you need from me?
Your resume and the role you are targeting, to start.
Then we come back with questions built around your background rather than a standard list. Answering them takes about thirty minutes and it is the part that decides how good the plan is.
How long does it take?
Three to five business days from the point we have your answers.
Is there a call first?
There is no call until the plan is written. The conversation happens after you have read it.
If you would rather speak to someone before sending your resume, you can book a call from the top of any page. Most people do not, and we do not push it either way.
What happens on the call afterwards?
We walk you through the plan and answer what it raised.
If you want to talk about us running the search, we will. If you do not, the plan is still yours and that is the end of it.
Can I just take the plan and run the search myself?
Yes. Some do, and that is a real outcome.
The plan tells your ideal company persona and who inside them decides. Executing it is the other half, and if you have the time to do that yourself, you should.
Will you write a plan for anyone?
No. We decline where we can see we cannot help, and we tell you rather than writing something generic.
The search
What do you actually do?
We work out which problem a company is actually hiring to fix and position you against it. Then we build the target list, reach the decision-makers who own that problem under your name, handle the replies and the scheduling, and brief you before each meeting.
You take the meetings and you close the offer.
How much of my time does it take?
About thirty minutes a week, on a standing call with your campaign manager.
Between calls you approve the target list and the messaging. You are not finding companies, writing outreach, chasing responses or managing a spreadsheet at eleven at night.
Do I approve who you contact?
Every name, before anything sends. You go through the list line by line if you want to.
Any employer, competitor or individual can be blocked, and that includes your current employer and anyone in your network you would rather we did not approach.
Whose name does the outreach go out under?
Yours, from a neutral email address created for you. No CareerBoost branding, and nothing in the signature that identifies us.
You approve the messaging before it sends, because it goes out in your name and it has to sound like you.
Will my employer find out?
Nothing is published anywhere and nothing goes on your profile. Every company we approach is one you have approved, and you can exclude your employer, their competitors and any individual.
Most of our clients are employed the whole way through.
How many interviews will I get?
We do not put a number on it, and you should be careful with anyone who does.
What we can tell you is what we control: getting you in front of the people who own the problem you fix, in enough volume to find the ones who need someone now.
How long does a search take?
Three to nine months is the honest range, and it varies with function, seniority, market and timing.
Anyone quoting you a tighter window is guessing.
Do you use AI to apply for jobs?
No. Real people handle every application and reply.
We use software to schedule and track a campaign, the way any team would. Nothing decides anything about your search except a person.
What if I get an interview I did not want?
Tell your campaign manager and we adjust the targeting. That is what the weekly call is for, and it is also why catching a wrong direction in week three matters more than a perfect list in week one.
Money
What does it cost?
A monthly fee of $699 while we run the search, plus a 3% of your annual base compensation as a placement fee tied to the offer you accept.
The monthly fee covers the research, the targeting, the campaign management, the outreach, the applications, the CRM and your weekly call.
When is the placement fee due?
After you accept an offer, payable once you have had your first paycheck. Never before.
What if I find the job myself?
If you land a role through your own network or your own application, outside the work we did, we charge only 1% for the work we have already completed on your behalf.
Do I have to rebuild my resume and profile?
Only if they are working against the position. If they hold up, we tell you and charge you nothing.
If they need rebuilding, that is a separate one-off fee, and it is credited back against the placement fee when you land.
Is there a contract I am locked into?
No. Month to month, no notice period. Stop paying and the campaign stops.
What if it does not work?
The first month is refundable for 30 days from the day your campaign launches, for any reason or none.
If we cannot generate demand for you, we will tell you first, give the month back and stop. Full terms are on the refunds page.
Fit
Who is this for?
VPs, SVPs and C-suite executives targeting $200,000 and above, in the United States and the United Kingdom. Most of our clients are employed and looking quietly.
I am not sure I am senior enough. Should I still send my resume?
Send it. If we do not think we can help, we will tell you, and you will have lost one email.
Can you help me move countries?
We work with executives in the United States and the United Kingdom. We do not advise on visas, sponsorship or immigration, and you should take advice on that separately before a campaign launches.
Are you recruiters?
No. Recruiters are paid by employers to fill roles. We are paid by you, and the only interest we have is the one you have.
Do you guarantee I will get a job?
No, and nobody honestly can. We cannot make a company hire you. What we control is demand: getting you in front of the people who own the problem you fix.
Checking us out
Can I speak to someone you have placed?
Yes. Every client we have placed is available for reference and verification. Tell us which background you want to hear from and we will put you in touch.
Not a testimonial we selected. The client, answering whatever you want to ask, before you have signed anything.
What happens to my resume?
We use it to write your plan and for nothing else. It is shared with nobody. You can ask us to delete it at any time and we will, whether or not you become a client.
See the privacy policy for the full detail.
